Step by step instructions
Below are illustrated step-by-step instructions to make my Chocolate Peanut Butter Bananas, if you prefer just the written instructions then head straight to the printable recipe card below.
Step one: Slice the bananas into even slices, (approximately 5mm thick) as I was making this as an Easter treat I sliced the bananas at an angle so the slices had an oval/egg shape.
Step two: Spread peanut butter on half of the banana slices. Place these slices on a baking paper-lined flat dish, or board/tray that will fit in your freezer.
Step three: Top the peanut butter with the remaining banana slices so that you end up with banana peanut butter sandwiches.
Step four: Place the chocolate drops and coconut oil in a small microwave-proof bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir, continue with 30-second bursts in the microwave until the chocolate is melted. (You do not the chocolate to be very runny, you just need it to be smooth)
Step five: Use a teaspoon to spoon a small amount of chocolate on top of the banana slices. Optional add sprinkles
Step six: Freeze your chocolate peanut butter bananas for at least an hour before serving.
Enjoy!
Chocolate covered peanut butter bananas are best enjoyed almost straight from the freezer, they can sit out for a little while but don't leave them out for a long time
