Tips & Tricks

Here is how you can make this Christmas Smoothie perfectly every time!

  • The secret to layering a smoothie is to ensure your smoothie blend has a thick texture. i.e. think a thick shake rather than a milkshake.
  • Don't be tempted to add extra liquid to the red white and green smoothies as if they have a thin texture the layers will bleed together.
  • Another tip to make a thick smoothie is to add a tablespoon of chia seeds.
  • When pouring the layers on top of each other, hold a spoon (back side up) above just above the layer the tip of the spoon can rest in the layer. Pour the next smoothie layer over the back of a spoon, this disperses the smoothie so as not to break the surface tension of the first layer of the smoothie.
  • Serve your smoothies with a long handled spoon, due to their thickness they may be hard to suck through a thin straw!

How To Make This Recipe Suitable For Baby-Led-Weaning

  • If your child is under one year of age either leave out the honey or substitute for maple syrup.
