Christmas Tree Appetizer

This little Christmas Tree Appetizer recipe is simple but utterly delicious and nutritious because not every Christmas treat needs to be about chocolate and candy.

Ingredients you will need

You could of course make these Pita Christmas Trees with mashed avocados, but if you want to step up the deliciousness then make a quick batch of my avocado aioli which absolutely sings with just a little Dijon mustard, garlic and lemon to enhance the avocado flavour.

Pita Christmas Trees

  • 1 pita bread
  • 8 Tablespoons Avocado Aioli or mashed avocado
  • 4 Pretzel sticks
  • ¼ red capsicum

Avocado Aioli

  • avocados
  • garlic
  • Dijon mustard
  • lemon juice
  • parsley
  • teaspoon salt
  • oil

Step-by-step instructions

Step one: Toast your pita bread and cut it into quarters.

Step two: Push a pretzel stick into the bottom of each of the pita bread triangles

Step three: Spread each piece of pita bread with avocado aioli or mashed avocado

Step four: Sprinkle the Christmas Tree Appetizers with finely diced red capsicum.
