I often get asked about healthy snack options!
To be honest when it comes to packet foods most are not all that flash as a snack for children. They are typically higher in salt and sugar than I would like. (Don’t get me wrong, my kids do have bits and pieces that come from packets, so I am in no way taking the moral high ground.)
The best snacks are typically based on fruit, vege, unprocessed grains or protein. Or even better a combination of a few of these things!
These nutty apple slices, need no cooking, look pretty and will make you look like super-mum on a playdate!
- Peanut Butter (Or other nut butter, almond works well)
- Slice Apple (I cored mine first thats how I got the cute doughnut shape)
- Sch-mear with peanut butter (added bonus it stops the apple going brown if you are preparing in advance)
- Sprinkle with coconut
