Some apples are better for Apple donuts than others, sweet and crisp apples are your best bet. I like Pink ladies, Ambrosia, Jazz, Royal Gala.
These are fantastic as after school snacks, or snacks you have at home, I find they don't transport well in a lunch box!
Any nut butter is fine, I have used peanut butter in these versions but use your favourite (almond butter, cashew butter). Sunflower seed butter can be used for nut free donuts.
Mix and Match, use any combination of toppings you have on hand, I have five apple donut recipes below but be creative!
