Bonus Vegetable Pizza Sauce

I like to call this hidden veggie pizza sauce bonus vegetable pizza sauce. Because it's not so much about hiding the vegetables, its more about everyone who enjoys the pizza gets some bonus veggies that day.

  • Tinned tomatoes
  • Garlic
  • Spinach leaves
  • Steamed vegetables 
  • Dried Italian herbs
  • Olive Oil

Ingredient Notes and Substitutes

  • Tinned tomatoes: You are going to be blending the tomatoes so you can use any tinned tomatoes, whole peeled, diced, crushed or puréed they are all going to end up puréed any way.

Step one: There is only one step to this recipe. Make a savoury smoothie. In a blender all the ingredients and blitz until smooth.

Step two: Spoon this sauce onto the pizza bases, when you make pizzas

Top Tips

Here is how you can make these vegetable pizza sauce perfectly every time!

  • Please note it will not look pretty when you first make it, but please also note once you cook it, it turns out fine, the green/brown fades, the redness of the tomatoes comes back and everyone is happy!
  • Any left-over steamed vegetables can be used
  • Don't forget you can still add even more vegetables on the top of your pizza as toppings!
