These easy apple snacks are brilliantย for kids especially straight after school or kindy!

All of the ingredients for my easy apple snacks are available at Countdown.

A few years ago to get all the different nuts, seeds, organic and gluten-free products that I wanted I had to visit a few specialist health shops, not now, now my good old countdown supermarket 200m from my house stocks everything!

The Macro Range and Free-From range is awesome and really well priced, with loads of the range on Price Lockdown.

Thanks Countdown for not only the great range of products but for supporting my blog and making this recipe possible.

Each easy apple snack starts the same way, with a slice of crispy apple as the base, a generous schmear of nut butter followed by a scattering of a tasty topping!

A great kid approved combo, my kids love puffed rice and Essentials Rice Pops are perfect crunch factor.

Cashew Chew Apple Snack

Low sugar mueslis can be hard to track down. I've been really impressed by the Nicola Organic Cereal Range, they have an unsweetened muesli which is one of the lowest sugar mueslis I've seen on supermarket shelves.

Even the maple almond toasted muesli that I used as the topping on this apple snack for my kids is really low in sugar compared to most toasted mueslis, coming in at just over 10% sugar, (many toasted mueslis are well over 20%)

Nutty Nibbler Apple Snack

Brazil nuts are loaded with selenium, but to tell the truth they are not my kids favourite nut, unless of course it is combined with Almond and Cashews in the Macro Almond Brazil & Cashew Nut butter.

I use theย Macro Nibble Mix often, its great on these apple slices but also awesome as a sprinkle on salads or on top of yoghurt.ย  (Its a simple mix of sunflower and pumpkin seeds, raisins and almonds.)

To make: Apple Slice + Macro ABC Nut Butter + Macro Nibble Mix

Scorched Almond Apple Snack

I LOVE the combo of almond and chocolate. I think it must have been from years of having scorched almonds at Christmas.

This is a simple topping and if you load the apple slice with a thick shmear of almond butter than I reckon the positives of the fruit and nut butter outweigh the few dark chocolate drops.

Countdown essentialย dark real chocolate drops are perfect! That's a big part of my philosophy with food for my kids if a little bit of yum factor is needed to encourage them to love and eat healthy food with gusto, then so be it.

To make: Apple Slice + Macro Almond Butter + Dark Chocolate Drops

I love using nut butters to quickly make a nutritious snack for my kids, my celery and peanut butter butterflies and ants on a log are an awesome snack too!

Another fun way to serve fresh apples is to make apple nachos.
