Ingredients you will need

To make egg waffles you actually only really need one ingredient, an egg! To make my version I like to add parmesan cheese, oh and a little oil to stop the egg waffle sticking.

Substitutes

  • Egg: I'm sorry but this is an egg waffle recipe so you can't make it without an egg.
  • Parmesan: I like to use powdered parmesan you can use any finely grated hard cheese or you can skip the parmesan altogether and just season the egg with salt and pepper.
  • Oil: I like to use spray oil to grease my waffle iron, but you can brush on a little melted butter or brush on regular oil.

FAQs

What are egg waffles?

Egg waffles are whisked eggs cooked in a waffle iron. In keto circles, they are often called chaffles.

Can I use egg waffles for baby led weaning?

I believe egg waffles can be a great way to serve eggs as finger food. The parmesan cheese I use to flavour the waffle is quite high in salt, for a baby starting their solids journey I would skip the parmesan and any salt.

How to serve egg waffles

Serve them as you would an omelette or scrambled eggs.

What do egg waffles taste like?

These egg waffles are plain and taste like a thin crispy omlette.

How many calories are in egg waffles?

Each egg waffle contains approximately 100 calories.

My 2 year old boy is picky. He won’t eat protein except for cheese. I made this one time and he ended up eating the whole thing. Thank you!
