This slow cooker condensed milk caramel is a game-changer, a decadent treat perfect for drizzling over desserts, spooning onto pancakes, or just enjoying straight from the jar (shhhhh don't tell the kids that last bit). Youโ€™ll be amazed at how something so delicious can come from just one ingredient and a slow cooker!

Ingredients you will need

This a single ingredient recipe, all you will need is a can of condensed milk.

Ingredient Notes, Substitutes, & Alternatives

  • For a dairy free or vegan alternative you can use coconut sweetened condensed milk.
  • This recipe will not work with evaporated milk or reduced cream.

Step-by-step instructions

Below are illustrated step-by-step instructions to make my Condensed Milk Caramel recipe, if you prefer just the written instructions then head straight to the printable recipe card below.

Step one: Remove the label from a can of sweetened condensed milk.

Step two: Place the can in your slow cooker. Fill the slow cooker with either boiling water or cold tap water so that the entire can is covered.

Step three: Turn your slow cooker on to:

  • [Boiling water] high and cook for 3-4 hours
  • [Tap water] low and cook for 8 hours

Step four Remove the can of condensed milk from the slow cooker using tong and leave to cool before opening.

Here is how you can make this Condensed Milk Caramel perfectly every time!

  • You can make more than one can of condensed milk caramel at one time, ensure the cans are well spread out so that there is plenty of water around each can.
  • Right the date you made the caramel on the can, unopened it will last up to a month.
  • Store leftover caramel in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Condensed milk caramel is delicious served as a dip on a fruit platter for a special occasion, drizzled over apple nachos, or with pancakes .

Instructions

  • Remove the label from a can of sweetened condensed milk.
  • Place the can in your slow cooker.

Quick Method
