Christmas Veggie Tray
Build a Christmas Veggie Tray in the shape of a Christmas tree. A snack and craft rolled into one, & encourages kids to snack on raw veggies.
Serve alongside a Christmas Cheese Board and your favourite Dips and you have got your Christmas appetiser sorted.
Ingredients you will need
Ingredient Notes, Substitutes, & Alternatives
- To create my Edible Christmas Tree Tray I used: Peas, sugar snap peas, broccoli, broccolini, zucchini, cucumber. I used cherry tomatoes to decorate the tree and a yellow capsicum for the star.
- Alternative green vegetables you could build your tree with: Green Bell Peppers, Salad Greens, Avocado, Snow Pea Shoots, Celery, Green Beans.
- Alternative red or white fruits and vegetables you could use to decorate the tree: Small Cauliflower Florets, Diced Red Capsicum, Raspberries, Pomegranate Seeds, Edible Flowers, Red Currants.
How to Assemble A Christmas Veggie Tray
Below are illustrated step-by-step instructions to make my Christmas Veggie Tray, if you prefer just the written instructions then head straight to the printable recipe card below.
Step one: Prepare the green vegetables
Slice the cucumber length ways
Cut the broccoli into florets
Split open some of the sugar snap peas and green pea pods
Trim the asparagus
Arrange the green vegetables onto a wooden board in the shape of a Christmas tree.
Step two: Use a star shaped cookie cutters to cut the capsicum into a star for the top of the veggie tree and smaller star shaped Christmas tree decorations.
Step three: Place the star at the top of the tree, scatter the cherry tomatoes and small capsicum stars over the veggie tree.
