Ingredient Notes and Substitutes

  • Mixed berries: You can use any berries, fresh or frozen. I've used a mix of fresh strawberries, and raspberries but frozen blueberries.
  • Strawberry puree: Adding a fruit puree like my strawberry purée really makes this chia yogurt pudding extra yum. You can use my blueberry compote recipe, raspberry purée or any store bought berry purée.
  • Yogurt: I usually use greek yogurt as it has a creamy texture and is higher in protein. But any yogurt will work just fine.
  • Chia seeds: I often use white chia seeds as they look a little prettier in yogurt, but black chia seeds are fine as well.
  • Pure Maple syrup: This can be substituted for honey.
  • Optional: You can add vanilla extract as an additional flavoring to the yogurt.
  • Toppings: Once made you can add fun toppings to the yogurt chia seed pudding to make it more decadent. Top with fresh berries, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, almonds, nut butter and or granola.

  1. I have not assembled the parfaits yet, but I made the jam and let it cool. Omg!! The Strawberry chia jam is amazing. Can’t wait to try it with the Greek yogurt.
