Top Tips
Here is how you can enjoy this chocolate apple cake with your family!
- First off the baking soda works so well as a rising agent in this recipe... BUT be very careful that it is well sifted so that you don't get any awful baking soda lumps!
- Serve this chocolate apple cake warm with ice cream for dessert.
- But don't forget that it's also just as yummy cold, my kids love it in their lunchboxes. If your school is nut-free you can skip the nuts in the crumble.
FAQs
If the apples are grated like in this recipe, any apples will be fine. If the apples are cubed and you want them to hold their shape look for a cooking apple such as a granny smith.
Once cooled this chocolate apple cake will store for up to three days in an airtight container. It can also be frozen in an airtight container.
