  • Naturally sweet with a creamy ice cream like texture
  • Easy to prepare
  • Perfect for toddlers, children and adults

Ingredients you will need

  • cornflour
  • water
  • bananas
  • milk
  • vanilla extract
  • honey
  • turmeric
All the ingredients to make the banana popsicles laid out on the bench.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutes

  • Cornflour: Also known as corn starch, this is optional but does stop ice crystals from forming in the frozen mixture.
  • Bananas: The riper the sweeter and better your popsicle will be.
  • Milk: This can be substituted with yogurt or a dairy-free milk alternative. (almond milk, coconut milk)
  • Honey: If you are making these for a child under one year of age please do not use honey. Either skip using a sweetener entirely or use maple syrup as an alternative.
  • Turmeric: Optional, the frozen banana popsicles will be delicious with or without the turmeric.

Top Tips

Here is how you can make these homemade banana popsicles perfectly every time!

  • Try adding chocolate chips or peanut butter (nut butter) to the mix
  • Cinnamon is a lovely flavor you can add to this recipe as well.
  • To release the popsicles from their molds I plunge them into jug of warm water for a few seconds, then they slide right out.
