Pinwheel Sandwiches 3 Ways

Lunchbox packing is in full swing, as are the afterschool snacks. Pinwheel Sandwiches are a cute and fun way to change up your lunchbox game.

I've teamed up with Tip Top to come up with 3 awesome pinwheel sandwich recipes using their new Super Vege bread range.

Tip Top Super Vege bread is available in 3 colourful varieties.

  • Spinach: Green
  • Beetroot: Pink
  • Carrot: Orange

Each slice contains 20% vegetable content and they are a great way to add colour and fun to a lunchbox!

Chicken Cranberry Pinwheel Sandwiches

I used the Tip Top Super Vege spinach bread to make these pinwheels. The filling is:

  • Cream cheese
  • Mayonnaise
  • Chicken (choped finely)
  • Cranberries
  • Lettuce

  • Hummus
  • Purple Cabbage
  • Red Capsicum

  • Cucumer

Strawberry Cream Cheese Pinwheel Sandwiches

I used the Tip Top Super Vege beetroot bread to make these pinwheels. The filling is:

  • Cream cheese
  • Fresh strawberries (chopped)

How to make Pinwheel Sandwiches

Below are illustrated step-by-step instructions to make pinwheel sandwiches, with bread. If you prefer just the written instructions then head straight to the printable recipe card below.

Step one: Remove the crusts from 2 slices of bread.

Step two: Roll the bread flat using either a rolling pin, jar, or straight-sided jar. Add a spread to the bread, in this instance I have used hummus.

Step three: Add your fillings, ensure they are finely cut, and lay them out so they cover two-thirds of the bread.

Step four: Roll up the sandwich and slice it in half. Forming a pinwheel.

Ingredients

Chicken Cranberry Pinwheel Sandwiches

  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 Tablespoon cream cheese
  • 20 g chicken finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon cranberries
  • lettuce

Rainbow Vegetable Sandiwch Roll Up

  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 Tablespoon hummus
  • purple cabbage
  • Red capsicum
  • Carrot
  • Yellow capsicum
  • stick Cucumber
  • Baby spinach leaves

Strawberry Pinwheel Sandwiches

  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 Tablespoons cream cheese
  • 6 strawberries (finely chopped)

Instructions

Rainbow vegetable roll up

  • I have included a recipe video for the rainbow vegetable roll up.

Pinwheel Sandwiches

  • Remove the crusts from the bread
  • Roll the slices of bread flat usuing a rolling pin, overlap two slices to make a long piece of bread.
  • Spread with cream cheese, then top with the other fillings so that the fillings cover two thirds of the bread.
  • Roll tightly, slice in half
