Ingredients you will need
- carrots
- frozen banana
- orange
- apple juice
- greek yogurt
Ingredient Notes and Substitutes
- Carrots: I use leftover cooked carrots. Cooked carrots means a smooth and silky texture. If you have a good quality high power blenders you will be able to blend raw carrots, however if you steam carrots before adding them to a smoothie you will get a silkier texture.
- Frozen banana: Frozen banana adds an ice cream like texture and flavor to smoothies.
- Orange: This can be substituted for mandarins, clementines, tangelos or mango.
- Apple juice: Many carrot smoothies are made with orange juice. I tried the orange juice version with my kids but to did not get a positive review from them. They preferred it made with apple juice or , but if you are a fan of orange juice you can definitely use it instead.
- Greek yogurt: I like to add greek yogurt to a smoothie as it is a source of protein and calcium.
