Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. The most efficient way to get a smooth consistency is to start on low speed until all the ingredients are well combined and large chunks are gone before increasing the speed to high.

Notes
Carrots: I use leftover cooked carrots. Cooked carrots means a smooth and silky texture. If you have a good quality high power blenders you will be able to blend raw carrots, however if you steam carrots before adding them to a smoothie you will get a silkier texture.
Frozen banana: Frozen banana adds an ice cream like texture and flavor to smoothies.
Orange: This can be substituted for mandarins, clementines, tangelos or mango.
Apple juice: Many carrot smoothies are made with orange juice. I tried the orange juice version with my kids but to did not get a positive review from them. They preferred it made with apple juice, but if you are a fan of orange juice you can definitely use it instead. If you are making this recipe for a baby under one, consider using water instead of apple juice as the liquid as this will reduce the sugar content of the smoothie.
Greek yogurt: I like to add greek yogurt to a smoothie as it is a source of protein and calcium.
