1slice bread(any kind your family enjoys—white, whole grain, gluten-free)
2Tablespoonspizza sauce
¼ cup shredded cheese
Toppings
2cherry Tomatoes
1Tablespoonspinachfinely shredded
Instructions
Preheat your oven, toaster oven or air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
Prep your bread: Toast the bread slices lightly before assembling—this helps prevent sogginess and gives the finished pizza toast a crispier bite. If the classic round pizza shape is a big deal in your house, you can use a round cookie cutter or pizza cutter to trim the crusts and make a mini round “pizza” base. Totally optional—but definitely fun!
Sauce it up: Spread 2–3 tablespoons of your pizza sauce onto each slice.
Add toppings: Let the kids help sprinkle on their favorite toppings and finish with a generous handful of cheese.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden. Airfryer 6 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
Cool slightly before serving—those little mouths can be sensitive to hot cheese!

Notes
Freezer-friendly: Assemble pizza toasts and freeze before baking. Cook straight from frozen—no thawing needed! My kids pop them in frozen into the air fryer for a quick hot snack.
Don't forget you can totally serve Pizza Toasts for breakfast - I mean in reality, it can have a lot more nutritious goodies on it than jam on toast!
Lunchbox-friendly: Cook, cool, and pack with an ice pack. They’re surprisingly tasty cold.
DIY pizza night: Set out bread, sauce, toppings, and let everyone make their own.
Bread: Any kind works! If your kids are crust-averse or like the idea of a round pizza, use a cookie cutter or glass to trim a circular toast base. I make Gluten-Free versions for my son on Gluten-free bread. When I make GF versions, I do toast the bread first as I find it keeps it from going soggy.
Cheese: Use what you’ve got—basic shredded cheese, tasty cheese, or fresh mozzarella all work.
Sauce options: Store-bought pizza sauce is fine, or try one of these homemade versions:
