Christmas Eggs and Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1 Egg

Instructions

  • Heat a pan on a medium/low temperature.
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut a star-shaped hole in the centre of the slice of bread.
  • Spread both sides of the bread and the star shape with butter
  • Place the buttered bread into the pan and cook until golden brown. Flip over.
  • Add a little extra butter to the bottom of the hole to create a non-stick surface. Carefully crack an egg into the centre of the hole.
  • Cook until the white of the egg is fully cooked and the yolk is cooked to your liking
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • The trick to the perfect egg is a low/medium heat, don't be tempted to speed up the process by cranknig up the heat
  • You do not need to use a star shaped cutter, a christmas tree or gingerbread man would also make a very cute Christmas toast and eggs breakfast.
  • Butter: This can be substitued for margarine, vegan butter or coconut oil.
  • Bread: Any thick sliced bread will work
  • Star cookie cutter: You could use any shaped cutter you like!
