Place in the slow cooker with the olive oil and salt. Toss the potatoes until the are well coated in the oil and salt.
Turn on your slow cooker Cook times: High Power 4 hoursLow Power 7-8 hoursOr until the potato flesh is tender.

To make good baked potatoes you need a 'floury' or 'starchy' variety of potatoes. In New Zealand I typically choose an Agria potato. Other floury varieties include: Desiree, Ilam Hardy, King Edward, Maris Piper, Yukon Gold and Russet potatoes.
There is very little to cooking baked potatoes in your slow cooker, my only tip would be to check the timing with your slow cooker (as they all vary a bit). I would cook potatoes in your slow cooker the first time on a day you are at home, so that you will be confident they will be perfect to come home to when you are out and about.
